The Best Foods to Boost your Energy and Keep You Active

May 02, 2022

Next time you feel like your batteries are running low or you're in need of a power-up, make sure you get an energy boost with these super foods. Which one is your favorite?

WATER

As simple as it sounds, water is a great source for energy. When our bodies are low on water, dehydration becomes the reason why some people experience headaches or get tired really quickly. Concentration is also affected when you don't drink enough water. If you feel plain water isn't that interesting, try using a few pieces of citrics, strawberry or cucumber to add a bit of extra flavor to water.

BROWN RICE

Unlike other kinds of rice, brown rice provides our body with good levels of manganese, one of the most important minerals that help transform the proteins and carbs we eat into energy. Plus, it's a great source of fiber and has a fuller taste than regular rice.

TUNA & TROUT

A couple of portions a week of salmon, tuna or trout will help your body produce enough energy thanks to their omega-3 fatty acids. As a plus, these oily fish are also rich in B12, a vitamin that takes part in the processes that turn protein and fats into energy.

AVOCADOS

Avocados provide a good amount of vitamin B6 that promote the formation of hemoglobin, the component of the red cells that carries oxygen around the body. So, besides being delicious and nutritious, avocados will help you have a better immune system and an energy-efficient body.

STEEL-CUT OATS

A single cup of cooked oatmeal can provide fiber and magnesium, while its fat and protein levels will keep your energy levels consistent, without sugar spikes or dips. The way these oats are processed make them retain most of their nutrients, fiber and proteins while granting them a dense texture.

SPINACH

Iron is essential for the brain's oxygen flow. You can have some extra iron by including spinach in your daily salad or adding it in a smoothie. Also, spinach will power you up with some vitamins K & C, as well as lutein, which is what makes spinach so good for your eyesight..

Don't forget that you should always look for a professional's advice when it comes to your diet.
